Qualifications

  • National, KAIST, and general scholars enrolled in KAIST graduate schools
    (master’s and doctoral programs) (excluding students in the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation program)

Application period

  • Within the first 2 weeks of the semester

Application procedure

  • Apply during the application period for minors at the beginning of the semester in the academic affairs system, submit online before the deadline.
  • ① Complete the application for minor program in academic affairs system
  • ② Approval from the advisor
  • ③ Approval from the head of the department/program chief professor
  • ④ Approval from the minor program chief professor
  • ⑤ Online submission
  • ※ Online submissions are not possible on the last day of submission. On the last day, applicants shall complete the Application Form for
        Minor Programs (for handwritten submissions on the last day of submissions) and submit together with an academic transcript in hard
        copy after obtaining approval from the relevant faculty members.

Requirements

  • 9 credits or more from the by K-School
    - K-School courses taken during the existing degree program before the application for minor program are also recognized
    - Dual recognition of credits for graduation requirements of the major department is not allowed
    - Where requirements for completion of Minor in Science-based Entrepreneurship program have not been met, the main major
      requirements will also not be considered not met, and students will not be allowed to graduate.


Benefits

    - For selected KAIST scholars who have not reached the limit on number of semesters, K-School covers the advisor contribution to tuition
      fees for 1 semester during the semester following selection.
    - The lab of the selected student (national scholar, KAIST scholar, ordinary scholar) shall be provided a one-time payment of 2 Mil. KRW for
      entrepreneurship capacity building costs.
      (Payment shall be made during the semester for selections made in Spring semesters, and Spring semester in the following year for
      selections made in Fall semesters)
    ※ However, this funding shall be provided to selected students from the Fall semester of 2020.
    ※ Where selected KAIST scholars who have not reached the limit on number of semesters fail to complete the program due to cancellation
        of minor or drop out, the K-School’s payment of the advisor’s contribution to tuition fees shall be returned.

The above course requirements are applicable to students applying for the minor program in the 2021 Spring Semester. However, students who applied for the minor program in 2020 or earlier may opt in to the above course requirements.
